Cacao vs Cocoa

For this hot chocolate recipe, I like to use raw cacao powder, which is unprocessed chocolate made from raw cacao beans. Although cocoa powder comes from the same source, it loses most of its nutrients as it is heated and chemically processed during manufacturing. Of course, you can use cocoa powder if you choose, but I highly recommend using cacao powder.

Raw Cacao Powder is an amazing superfood with a ton of benefits!

Now that you know all the incredible health benefits of this Maca Hot Chocolate, let’s go over how easy it is to make it at home!

Thank you for this recipe! I make this maca hot chocolate probably once a week, and it makes me feel so happy when I drink it. I add organic agave syrup to sweeten it a little. It’s honestly the best recipe I have ever found. 🙂

I use maca in my smoothies all the time but never thought to add it to hot chocolate! Made this on Sunday for my holiday movie marathon and it was SO GOOD. Will be making this over and over again throughout the season.
