Crispy Baked Sweet Potato Fries

Seasoned and baked to perfection, these crispy sweet potato fries are made in less than 30 minutes! Learn how to make the best baked sweet potato fries with this insanely delicious recipe!
If you know me, you know I love cooking from scratch. Honestly, it is what I prefer, even when it comes to simple things like french fries! Don’t get me wrong, I’ve tried frozen sweet potato fries in the past. The ones you simply throw in the oven for twenty minutes and have as a side with your meal…. I didn’t like it. Naturally, I began making my own sweet potato fries and I am SO happy I did.
Â
Once you see how incredibly easy to make and TEN TIMES more flavorful homemade baked sweet potato fries are, I promise you’ll never look at pre-made store-bought sweet potato fries the same again.
Don’t worry, you only need basic knife skills to cut your sweet potato into the perfect fry shape. Honestly, it will only take you five minutes to simply chop a few potatoes for the perfect fries. First, cut the sweet potato lengthwise into thirds. I promise you, that’s the hardest part of this entire recipe. The next steps will be a breeze.
(A very handy culinary trick to cutting round vegetables is to make a thin slice on one side and now use this side as a flat base.)
Now, take each of the thirds and slice them lengthwise into ÂĽ inch slices. Depending on the size of your sweet potato this should yield 3-5 fry-like pieces.Â
Now the next part is crucial! This is why my sweet potato fries are so killer and crazy good. Season the fries with smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, chili powder, salt, pepper, and olive oil. It sounds like a lot, but TRUST ME, these fries are going to taste incredible. (You can also simply season with salt, pepper, and olive oil, but please be generous with the seasonings for the best results.)
Line the sweet potato fries on a lined baking sheet. I tend to just toss my fries on the baking sheet, but my boyfriend is more meticulous when it comes to placing the sweet potato fries and I’ve found it to work out nicely. So, place the sweet potato fries on the baking sheet and transfer to a preheated oven at 425°F.
After 15, remove the sweet potato fries from the oven and rotate them to their opposite side. Then, transfer the fries back into the oven for another 12-15 minutes.
Everyone’s favorite Curry Ketchup (literally I’ve been told I need to bottle this ketchup and sell it)
