ingredients needed to make fruit infused sea moss gel: alkaline water, dates, frozen fruit, soaked sea moss

What Do You Need To Make Fruit Infused Sea Moss Gel?

You’ll need 4 Simple Ingredients:

Organic Fresh or Frozen Fruit: In my video, I show how to make fruit-infused sea moss gel with both fresh and frozen fruit. I do this mainly to highlight that there is almost no difference in using fresh vs frozen fruit. What is most important is that any fruit you use is organic. If you use frozen fruit, let it thaw first.

Organic Medjool Pitted Dates: Dates are considered “Nature’s Candy” and are the perfect natural sweetener to add to smoothies, drinks, desserts, anything you can think of! They are perfect in this recipe because not only do they help sweeten the sea moss gel, but they also help to create a smooth consistency. Here are the Medjool Dates I use. SUBSTITUTION OPTIONS: Instead of dates, you can use honey or agave syrup. Start with 2-3 tablespoons, taste, and adjust the sweetness as desired.

Sea Moss: But, of course! You’ll need to prepare your sea moss as you normally would by cleaning and soaking it first to make this fruit-infused gel. If you are unsure how to prepare sea moss, check out my post here: How To Prepare Sea Moss.

Alkaline Water: Use alkaline water when preparing your sea moss gel. If you thoroughly cleaned your sea moss prior to soaking and the water is free from any dirt/debris, you can also use the reserved water that was used to soak the sea moss.

How To Make Fruit Infused Sea Moss Gel?

  1. Clean and Soak the Raw Sea Moss: For details on how to prepare your sea moss to make sea moss gel, check out my post and step-by-step video here: How To Prepare Sea Moss.
  2. Gather Your Ingredients. Once your sea moss has soaked for at least 12-24 hours, gather your remaining ingredients to make the gel. If you are using frozen fruit, let it thaw before using it. Also, allow the dates to soak for at least 30 minutes before making the gel.
  3. In a high-powered blender (I use Vitamix 5200 Blender Professional-Grade), transfer all of your ingredients and blend until smooth, about 1-3 minutes. I usually start the blender on low and gradually increase to the highest setting.
  4. Transfer the Sea Moss into an airtight container/mason jar, and refrigerate. The sea moss gel will thicken in the fridge after approximately 2 hours.

Important To Note:

  • When blending your sea moss gel, use 1 cup of water to start and add more depending on the consistency you would like your gel.
