Air frying is The best way to make turkey burgers. It is quick, easy, and always results in tender, juicy burger patties. These burgers are a favorite in our home and are perfect for satisfying our burger cravings!

These are the best air fryer turkey burgers because they are:

  • Simple and Fast – With just a few minutes of prep and 15 minutes in the air fryer, it’s great for a weeknight meal.
  • A Healthier Protein Option– Ground turkey contains less saturated fat and cholesterol than your typical ground beef burger. They are also low-carb and naturally gluten-free! (AND Whole30 and Paleo Friendly!)
  • Versatile – You can mix and match sides and toppings for different flavors and meals! (Sometimes we like to skip the bun and make a turkey burger salad or load the turkey burger up with avocado crema or homemade barbecue sauce!)

Air Fryer Turkey Burger Ingredients

  • Ground turkey: Although store-bought patties (frozen or fresh) can work in a pinch, I prefer homemade turkey burgers so I can flavor them just how I like!
  • Garlic: Minced garlic adds tons of flavor. If you do not have fresh garlic on hand, you can always use garlic powder.
  • Seasoning: My blend includes smoked paprika, chili powder, and salt and pepper to taste.
  • Worcestershire sauce: This sauce ensures your turkey burgers are not bland. They’ll have a yummy umami flavor. If you do not have this, then you can sub it with coconut amino (gluten-free) or soy sauce.

How to Make Turkey Burgers In Air Fryer

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 370°F before cooking.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ingredients. Then, form 4 equally sized burger patties.
  3. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and place the turkey burgers in a single layer in the preheated air fryer. Cook at 370°F for 10 minutes. Then flip the burgers and cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until cooked through. The burgers are done when a meat thermometer inserted shows an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  4. Serve the turkey burger on a burger bun or lettuce wrap with your favorite toppings.

Turkey Burger Toppings

Turkey burgers have a lighter flavor that doesn’t overpower other ingredients so adding toppings only enhances the burger! Here are some yummy additions:

  • Cheddar/Swiss: When the burgers are done, add a slice of cheese. Then close the basket to the air fryer without turning it on. In just a minute or two, you’ll have perfectly melted cheese.
  • Sauce: Standard mustard and ketchup are good but maybe you want to try something different! Make one of my quick and easy vegan homemade sauces like this tangy BBQ sauce or this creamy Tzatziki sauce.
  • Greens: It’s not a healthy burger without something green so consider adding jalapeños, arugula, or sliced avocado.
  • Tomato: We like to add sliced heirloom tomatoes and sometimes get fancy and add air-fried green tomatoes.
  • Red Onion: Red onion is great to add. If you have a bit of time on your hands, consider making caramelized onions for even more delicious goodness!
  • Pickles: And by pickles, we mean pickled veggies! Try pickled onions, cucumbers, and jalapeños.
