Serving, Storing, and Rewarming

I made a 8″ skillet-sized s’mores dip and served it at a family gathering. I thought we would devour it, but we were only able to get through half before getting super full. Of course, there was no way we could throw this chocolatey marshmallow goodness away, so we stored it in a glass airtight container. I rewarmed it a couple of days later and it was just as good!

  • TO SERVE: Serve this dip right out of the skillet. let the skillet cool first to avoid any injury or burns while making your s’mores. Serve this smores dip with graham crackers, strawberries, pretzels, and cookies!
  • TO STORE: All the s’more dip to cool completely. Then, Transfer any leftover dip into an airtight container. You can store it in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • TO REWARM: Place the s’mores dip in an oven-safe dish. Rewarm in a preheated oven at 350°F for 3-5 minutes, or until the chocolate is melted and the marshmallows are soft.

Common Questions

Why is a s’more called a s’more?

S’mores reference the phrase, “some more.” You can’t have just one, you have to have “s’more“! Although the origins of the name are unknown, they were first documented in a 1920s Girl Scouts pamphlet. It became popular as a delicious and convenient snack while camping.

What is the best chocolate to use for s’mores?

Use your favorite type of chocolate. A popular option is Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bars. But you can use dark chocolate, semi-sweet, or even white chocolate. Use chocolate bars, baking chips, or a combination of both!

What goes well with s’mores dip?

The obvious choice for s’mores dip is graham crackers but the pairings are limitless. If you prefer something crunchy, pretzels, potato chips, cookies, vanilla wafers, and Ritz crackers are great options. But fruit would be equally delicious! I’d opt for juicy strawberries, diced pineapples, or apple slices.
