I’ve been making my own granola cereal for quite some time now, mostly because it’s hard to find a tasty gluten-free cereal in the grocery store.
Whether you eat gluten-free or not, this recipe is SO GOOD!! Made with oats, almonds, honey, and cranberries this granola is sweet, filling, and nutrient-rich!
Making granola at home is incredibly easy! Since I’ve started making my own granola cereal, I’ve never purchased store-bought cereal again—and why should I!? This recipe calls for very few ingredients, ones that you most likely already have at home. It is also healthy and packed with tons of protein, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals from the honey, oats, and almonds. AND it’s perfectly sweetened with agave and cranberries. What’s not to love?
Ingredients You Need To Make This Gluten-Free Honey Almond Granola Recipe
Rolled oats: make sure they are gluten-free like Bob’s Red Mills Gluten Free Oats (if necessary)
Nuts: Shaved Almonds and Hulled Sunflower Seeds
Honey & Agave: to provide perfect, mouthwatering sweetness
Coconut oil: helps bind the ingredients,
Spices: Cinnamon, Ginger, Nutmeg, Sea Salt, Vanilla Extract
Dried Fruit: I love using dried cranberries but you can use whatever dried fruits you like. Dried Mango and apricot are also tasty options
How to make Honey Almond Granola
First, mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl. I like to start with the dry ingredients first and then add the liquid ingredients. Make sure to mix well so that all the oats are coated in the liquid ingredients.
Then, transfer the mixture to a baking sheet and spread into a smooth, even layer. In my video (below), I ran out of parchment paper. While parchment paper is not necessary, it does make for an easier clean up. It also makes it easier to transfer the oatmeal into an airtight container once it is finished. I usually just grab opposite ends of the parchment paper and can pour it directly into my mason jar, then throw away the parchment paper—super easy!
Bake the granola for 15 minutes at 325 degrees F. Then, remove the granola from the oven and stir. This step helps ensure even cooking and helps so that the granola does not burn at the bottom. Don’t skip this step unless you want dry, burnt granola.
After stirring the granola, put it back in the oven for an additional 10 minutes. Once this time has passed, remove the granola from the oven and allow it to cool for 10 minutes. Do not stir the granola during this ten minutes. As it is cooling, the granola is binding and creating those tasty granola clusters that we love.
After the granola is cooled, add the dried cranberries and mix well. Now you can transfer the granola to an airtight container. This granola can easily last for at least 2 weeks on the counter.
All Done!
Now you have a tasty, healthy Honey Almond Granola cereal that you can enjoy for breakfast or as a snack. I love adding my granola to my acai bowls; it provides such a delicious crunch!

Hi Sue! I agree completely!
Absolutely delicious – so great to have on hand for a delicious breakfast!
Homemade granola is the best! So excited to try this recipe!
I love granola!! With milk and yogurt as well. It’s great to have a homemade recipe! The store bought ones are just not as good!
Hi Pris! I like my granola with almond milk and on my acai bowls. && I’m with you! I’ve tried store brought but honestly, I prefer to just make my own!
I can’t wait to sprinkle this on my yogurt in the morning. So much better for you than store-bought granola! Thanks for the great recipe!
Hi Kristin! I am so glad you like! 🙂
So many wonderful flavors in this granola! I love it.
Hi Katherine! I am happy you like it!
Wow – this really is so easy! Why bother buying granola at the store when you can make your own so simply, and totally control what’s in it! I haven’t tried it yet, but I thought your suggestion of using dried mango sounded really good – kind of tropical and summery! At any rate, so fun to be able to play around with different additions – thanks for the ideas for that!
Hi Shelley! That is exactly right! I like being able to control what goes into my food and with this granola I know exactly that. I find the store brought granola to be too sugary. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do 🙂
Yum! I love the flavor and texture of this granola! So cruncy!
I love granola as cereal and on my yogurt, but I never make my own. I should because you can add what you like.
Hi Heather! Definitely, that’s the best part! Sometimes I play around with the recipe and add different kinds of nuts and dried fruits. It always turns out great!
