This cantaloupe juice recipe will quickly become your favorite summer drink. Most fruit juice beverages that you buy tend to have lots of added sugar and preservatives. However, making it yourself has never been easier and it tastes even better than any store-bought juice.

The flavor of this fresh cantaloupe juice is light, refreshing, and sweet. It is the perfect thirst-quencher and filled with health benefits! I enjoy making a large pitcher in the morning and sipping it throughout the day. It is also one of my favorite drinks to bring to picnics and gatherings.

Health Benefits of Cantaloupe

  • Cantaloupe is incredibly hydrating and loaded with electrolytes and minerals! This juicy melon also has a high water content of 90%; the highest of all fruits next to watermelon and honeydew melon.
  • It is packed with vitamin C, which is a powerful antioxidant that boosts the immune system. One cup of cantaloupe supplies 100% of the recommended daily value for vitamin C.
  • It’s great at maintaining healthy blood pressure and increasing heart health due to its high levels of potassium.
  • One cup of cantaloupe also supplies your daily need for Vitamin A, which plays a vital role in improving bone, skin, and eye health.

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Ripe Cantaloupe: You can tell a cantaloupe is ripe when the melon’s green rind begins to turn a light yellowish color. You can also push on the outside of the cantaloupe. It should be firm but slightly soft when pressed. A good cantaloupe will also feel heavy.
  • Cold Water: Use cold water so that you can enjoy the juice right away. This drink is even more satisfying when it is cold.
  • Honey: Manuka honey is best to use because it is rich in antioxidants and has antibacterial properties. You can also use agave syrup if you would like to make this recipe vegan. Feel free to omit the sweetener if you prefer.

Optional Add-ins

  • Lime Juice: Take this juice up a notch by adding lime juice and thus creating a refreshing Cantaloupe Agua Fresca. Add the juice of one lime (about 1-2 tbsp).
  • Fresh Ginger: Blend 1-2 inches of fresh ginger with the cantaloupe for added benefits
  • Lemon and mint: Add slices of lemon and fresh to garnish and enhance your drink. (Keep in mind that lemon will change the flavor profile of the drink.)
steps shown on how to make cantaloupe juice
There are a few ways to juice cantaloupe. There is no need for a fancy, expensive juicer. You can use a blender and strain the juice in a few simple steps.

How To Make Cantaloupe Juice

  1. Remove the skin and seeds from the cantaloupe. Then, slice the flesh into chunks.
  2. Add the sliced cantaloupe, honey, and water (and lime juice if adding) to the blender. Blend until smooth.
  3. Place a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth over a bowl or pitcher. Strain the pulp from the mixture to get a clear juice. (Feel free to leave the pulp if you like. It is full of fiber and nutrients.)
  4. Serve in a glass with ice cubes and garnish with fresh mint. Enjoy!

Tips For Making The Best Cantaloupe Juice

  • Store your ripe cantaloupe in the fridge until you are ready to make your juice.
  • Use cold water, especially if you want to enjoy the cantaloupe juice immediately after making it. (The juice tastes best when it is cold)
  • Use a spoon to press any juice from the pulp through the strainer, or squeeze the cheesecloth tightly to remove any liquid. This liquid is gold and you do not want any to go to waste. 🙂
