Common Questions And Tips

Does this taste like actual ginger ale?

YES! You will be so surprised how these simple ingredients come together to make a healthy ginger ale that is both effective and taste even better than store bought.

What should I do with the leftover ginger pulp?

You can save the leftover ginger pulp in ice cube trays to use later in stir-fries, curries, or smoothies. You can also steep it in hot water to make a warm and soothing ginger tea.

Can I adjust the ratios when making my gingerale?

Certainly! If you want a stronger or milder ginger flavor, just adjust how much of the ginger mixture you mix with the sparkling water. You can also change the amount of lime juice and sweetener to match your taste.

Can I drink the ginger mixture without any sparkling water or club soda?

You certainly can! Keep in mind that the sparkling water/club soda dilutes the ginger mixture to make it more palatable. The ginger mixture on its own is quite strong.

Can I use powdered ginger instead of fresh ginger?

I recommend using fresh ginger for the best results and flavor

Can I add other flavors, like mint or fruit juice?

Certainly! I recommend adding any additional flavors when serving the ginger ale in a glass. You can also steep the ginger ale with teas like hibiscus or green tea!

How long To Store My Ginger ale?

Store the ginger mixture in a sealed jar or pitcher in the fridge. It last in the fridge for up to a week. Do not premix it with the club soda or sparkling water.

Substitutions And Recipe Customizations

  • Sweetener: You can use honey, agave, or maple syrup. If you would like to use simple syrup, make it separately on the stove first and add as desired when serving a glass of ginger ale.
  • Lime or Lemon: You can use lime or lemon in this recipe. I prefer the taste that the lime brings and find it resembles the actual flavor of ginger ale the best. Use whichever you prefer.
  • Chopping The Ginger: For the best results, it is best to chop the ginger into small pieces. I first peel and chop the ginger into large chunks, then add it to a measuring cup to make sure I have about 2 cups. Then, I chop it in the food processor to save time.
  • Flavors: I’m all about natural flavors that will further enhance your drink. A good idea is to steep the fresh ginger with hibiscus or green tea for even more delicious flavor.
