-
Avocado

Maple Syrup (or Date Syrup)
-
Melted Coconut Oil
-
Vanilla Extract
Nutritious Chocolate, Say What!?
Yes, this chocolate cream is full of heart healthy nutrients, antioxidants, and amino acids! It has:
-
Antioxidants and nutrients like magnesium (which can help reduce stress), potassium, and iron.
-
Vitamins B, C, and E, which helps your body fight off disease and infection
-
Fiber, which helps you feel full longer.
-
Potassium, which helps control blood pressure
-
Fatty acids, which help boost brain function
Did I mention it tastes absolutely incredible! This cream is definitely a win-win in my book: healthy and scrumptious! AND, its completely vegan, gluten, and refined sugar free!
The Benefits of This Chocolate Cream
Besides all of its incredible nutritional benefits, another great benefit is how simple this chocolate (cacao) cream is to make! It does not require any double boiling, microwaving, or strange heating technique. All the ingredients are raw and simply tossed in the blender and mixed together. There’s no need to worry about the chocolate clumping or seizing up; this chocolate cream turns out perfect every time!
Next Step: Cover Your Strawberries In Chocolate!
Once you’ve made the Chocolate Cream, it is ready for use. Simply dip the strawberries in the chocolate cream, making sure all sides are coated. Then, place the strawberries on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Toppings for Chocolate Covered Strawberries
- Crushed pecans
- Coconut shavings
- Cinnamon
- Powdered sugar
- White chocolate drizzle
- && Crushed peanuts are tasty options
Once all your strawberries are covered in chocolate, simply dip them into your favorite toppings!
Last Step: Transfer the chocolate covered strawberries to the fridge to set. The chocolate will have hardened after 2 hours, but the longer they are in the fridge, the better!
Tips For Making The Best Homemade Chocolate Covered Strawberries
-
You can make these strawberries 24-48 hours in advanced. Simply leave the chocolate covered strawberries in the fridge in an airtight container until you are ready to enjoy them.
-
Make the chocolate covered strawberries at least 2-3 hours before you are ready to enjoy them. This gives the chocolate time to harden.
-
Feel free to use any toppings you like! You can also make plain chocolate covered strawberries and dip them in melted brie, whipped cream, caramel sauce, whatever you like!
What to do with leftover Chocolate Cream (Cacao Cream)
I use this chocolate cream for any and everything that calls for chocolate. It is great to use for icing for cakes or cupcakes. I also recently used it to make some amazing double chocolate chip pancakes.

This recipe was perfect for the upcoming holiday! We used melted carob chips in place of the chocolate and can’t wait to make them again and share with my loved ones in a couple of weeks.
Hi Renia! I am glad you enjoyed the recipe! Carob is a great substitute!
I was skeptical when I saw avocado listed, but I’m glad I pressed on! They were perfect and taste better than the non-vegan way of making chocolate-dipped strawberries.
Yess! I am so happy you enjoyed the chocolate! You can’t taste the avocado at all. It just helps to make creamy chocolate and provides a few extra nutrients!
We always make these for Valentine’s Day. Yours look so pretty.
