Grill Instructions
Preheat the Grill: Heat your grill to medium-high, around 400-450°F. Bison is leaner than beef, so it cooks faster. Keep the grill at medium to prevent overcooking.
Prep the Bison Patties: In a large bowl, combine the ground bison, salt, pepper, and optional add-ins. Gently form into patties. Bison is lean, so avoid overworking the meat, as it can become tough.Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while grilling.
Lightly oil the grill grate help prevent the burgers from sticking on the grill
Grill the Patties: Place the patties on the preheated grill.Cook for 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip. Grill for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare to medium (internal temperature should be around 135-145°F). Be careful not to overcook, as bison can dry out quickly due to its low fat content. If you prefer them more well-done, cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
Assemble and enjoy: Add your favorite toppings and serve on a bun or lettuce wrap. Enjoy!
