Ingredients

  • 1 ripe Avocado, peeled & stone removed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 lemon, juiced (or lime)
  • 1 tsp maple syrup or honey
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
  • ~half of a jalapeno
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 tsp sea salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper or to taste

Optional

  • 1/2 tsp cumin

Instructions

  • Process all the ingredients in a food processor until mixture is very smooth, light, and thick. Season with salt, as needed.
  • Transfer Avocado Crema to a small bowl and top with cilantro leaves. Enjoy!

Notes

If the sauce is too thick, you can thin the sauce by adding a bit of water and blending to reach your desired consistency. Add more fresh lime juice or lemon juice for a bit more tanginess, and add more maple syrup to balance the flavors
