  • 1/2 cup Raw Cashews, soaked and drained
  • 2 Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce, seeds removed
  • 2 tsp Adobo Sauce (from the can)
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • 1/4 cup Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 cup Almond Milk
  • 1/2 tbsp Maple Syrup
  • 1/4 tsp Sea Salt

Optional Add-ins

  • 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika


  • Bring a small pot of water to a boil. Pour the boiled water over a bowl of raw cashews and soak for 20-25 minutes. After soaking, drain the cashews and discard the water.
  • Add the cashews to a high-powered blender along with the remaining ingredients. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
    Taste and adjust: add more adobo sauce to make it a bit spicer, add a splash of almond milk or water to thin out the sauce, add more maple syrup or agave to make it less spicy.


How To Store This Vegan Chipotle Cashew Cream

Store your chipotle crema in the fridge in an airtight container or mason jar. It will last up to 5 days. Be sure to give it a stir before using.
  • If you would like to make the sauce spicer, add another chipotle pepper or more adobo sauce (from the can). 
  • If the sauce is too spicy, add more agave or maple syrup to reduce the spice level.
