Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh aloe juice
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice about 4-5 lemons juiced
  • 1/4 cup Raw Honey, or to taste
  • Fresh Mint Sprigs
  • Ice for serving, optional

Instructions

How To Prepare Fresh Aloe

  • Trim the spiky edges and ends off a fresh aloe leaf and soak in filtered water for 30-60 minutes.
  • Slice away the outer green skin. Cut the clear gel into chunks and soak in filtered water for 30–60 minutes to help remove any remaining bitterness.
  • Drain, add a quarter cup of water if desired, then blend until smooth. Strain if desired.

Make The Lemonade

  • Add fresh aloe juice to a large pitcher. Juice the lemons and pour into the pitcher.
  • Add raw honey, stirring until the honey is fully dissolved. Add sprigs of fresh mint. Then, top with filtered water
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to let the flavors infuse. Serve chilled, with ice if desired. The flavor deepens as it sits and it keeps beautifully in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Notes

Use only food-grade Aloe barbadensis miller and avoid the yellow latex layer just under the skin.
