Air Fryer Ahi Tuna Steak

Make the best ahi tuna steak easily in the air fryer. The tuna steak is first marinated in a flavorful mixture of honey, ginger, coconut aminos (or soy sauce). Then, cooked to perfection in the air fryer!

Ingredients

  • 2 4 - 6 oz. raw ahi tuna steaks
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste

Marinade/Dipping sauce

  • 1/4 cup Coconut Aminos (or soy sauce)
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar (or rice vinegar)
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 1" Ginger, grated/finely minced
  • 4 Garlic Cloves, minced

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine the ingredients for the marinade. Set aside 1/4 cup of the marinade to use as a dipping sauce for later, if desired.
  • Place the tuna steak in the sauce, cover, and marinate in the fridge for at least 20 minutes (or up to 1 hour).
  • When ready to make the tuna steak, start by preheating the air fryer to 380°F for 5 minutes.
  • Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Place the tuna steaks in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness. (check with an instant thermometer.)
  • Carefully remove the tuna steaks from the air fryer and let rest for 1-2 minutes. Slice thinly and enjoy!

How Long To Cook Tuna Steak In The Air Fryer?

  • Rare: 1.5 minutes per side
  • Medium-Rare: 2-3 minutes per side
  • Medium: 4 minutes per side
  • Well-Done: 5-6 minutes per side.
Cooking Times For Frozen Tuna Steak:
  • Rare: 3 minutes per side
  • Medium-Rare: 4 minutes per side
  • Medium: 6 minutes per side
  • Well-Done: 8 minutes per side.
