What is  Juneteenth?

GOODFOODBADDIE.COM

Juneteenth is an annual holiday that commemorates the ending of slavery in the United States. June 19, 1865, marks the days when a group of enslaved people in Galveston, Texas finally learned they were free — two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

While festivals, parades, outdoor games, and prayers are held to recognize the day, barbecues and the celebration of African American cuisine is considered integral to the commemoration of Juneteenth.

This year to celebrate, 40+ Black Creators have put together a Juneteenth menu as a Freedom Day tribute. Swipe thru to see and be prepared to save some links! (swipe up for each recipe)
